The repairs to this set of vintage pipes included replacing Casein resin mounts and severely corroded ferrules. Artificial Ivory was chosen for the mounts while Pewter was chosen for the ferrules. At one time Pewter was valued as much as Silver and traded as a metal with an intrinsic monetary value and not just for its appeal as an embellishment. We melt and cast our own pewter and turn-to-fit before fitting and polishing.
