the Boss’s Voucher & Scrimpin’ Rules

The “Golden Rule” : Dinna flash a ‘Gie’s a Handout’ and expect a flash smile, We work incredibly hard to make wares and share them wi ye, and we ask you tae earn your discounts fairly!

As a business with strong Scottish roots, we tae keep a very close eye on our sporan! We have tae skin a flea for the tallow tae keep the doors open an’ our prices fair—mind you. We’re aw squeezefistin’ the bawbees these days!

When you peruse the rules below, you will see a few traditional Scots terms. Don’t panic! Here is a quick guide so you know exactly what we are talking about:

  1. Siller-Snatchers & Reft-Rags: This means “coupons or discount codes”. “Siller” means money, and “reft” means taken away. To our thrifty hearts, issuing “iller-Snatchers & Reft-Rags” feel like reaching right into the till to snatch our hard-earned $$$$, we issue them to customers who earned them and who we value as our clients.
  2. Lazy-Lynes: This is the term for “gift cards”. “Lyne” is an old Scottish word for an official paper “permission” slip, a written pass, or a certificate of permission giving you authorization to march into our shop and take our stock without handing over real $$$. We call them “lazy” because someone couldn’t bother to find ye a proper mindin’, and now you’re using it to stroll in and take our stock!
  3. Pouch-Pickit’: A traditional term for a pick-pocket (from “pouch,” meaning pocket).

1. How Tae Snare a Siller – Snatcher

  1. If ye are wondering how tae get yer sticky fingers on one of our prized Siller-Snatchers’, ReftRags or Lazy-Lynes’ dinna expect a straight answer. Truth be telt, they only come aboot on the rarest of occasions—born of Blue-Moons, sudden fits of random lunacy by the boss, or the caused by the Scottish Piper running amok aboot the shop, blowing a mad gale until she can finally be caught, tackled, and scooted clean oot the door.
  2. We might then whisper a code in an email, scatter them like chaff across our website, or hand them out on the shop floor whenever the mood strikes us and the wind blows right.
  3. We reserve the absolute right tae issue them by any vague, mysterious manner or means we see fit.
  4. If a code happens tae land in yer inbox as if by magic or appears on our counter for purchase, ye should drop to yer knees in gratitude.
  5. Treat that Siller-Snatcher as the most sacred, prized golden offering available tae all of humanity because getting us tae part with a single bawbee is a literal miracle!

2. How Ye Use Reft-Rags, Siller-Snatchers & Lazy-Lyne

  1. Our Siller, Our Say: We issue the voucher an’ scrimpin’ codes, and we retain the absolute right tae chop, change, or killoff Reft-Rags, Siller-Snatchers ‘n LazyLyne’s whenever we see fit.
  2. Wan Code Per Order, Nae Stackin’: Ye cannae pile offers atop each other. Ye get wan deduction per basket / per transaction. Dinna hand over two bits of paper nor try tae type two codes into the website. Dinna try tae be cheeky ya Pouch-Picket.
  3. Dinna Push Yer Luck: If it’s already cheap, or on the clearance shelf, the Reft-Rags ‘n Siller-Snatchers are useless.
  4. Log In an show yer face: Ye must be signed into a proper, valid account. If ye show up or pitch up in person on the shop floor, dinna think a flash smile will bypass the rules, ye must show your valid loyalty card. Nae anonymous freeloadin’ allowed.
  5. Nae Real Siller: Reft-Rags ‘n Siller-Snatchers have zero cash value. Ye cannae sell them, swap them, or trade them for LazyLyne’s Pre-Paid Plunder! (gift card).

3. Limitations and Exclusions (Where We Draw the Line)

  1. Spend Minimums: To unlock the bonnie savings ye must spend a certain amount first, that means the product total before the taxman and the delivery driver take their cut.
  2. Wee Exceptions: The bonnie deductions we provide tae ye flatly cannae apply tae Gift Cards, Sale Items, or specific items we designate, as we’ve already sharpened our pencil tae the absolute limit and refuse tae lose another plack!
  3. The Postie’s Take: The discount is for the gear only. Ye are still payin’ full price for the postie to deliver it, unless the delivery method we specify explicitly says “Free Post”!

4. Expiration and Validity (When yer Luck Runs Out)

  1. Hard Deadlines: Every code has a ticking clock. When the time is up, the code is dead. Do not ask for mercy.
  2. Nae Goin’ Back: If ye already bought the gear and forgot your code, that is your mistake. We are no’ opening the till to refund ye.
  3. The Boss’s Right: We reserve the right tae pull, scrap, or kill any code whenever we feel like it, without warning ye.

5. Errors and Troubleshooting (When the Machine Glitches)

  1. System Errors: If the computer makes a mistake and gives ye a ridiculous price, we will cancel your order immediately. We are no’ running a charity!
  2. Rejected Codes: If the machine says “No,” it means “No”. The customer service staff cannae manually override the system just to make ye happy.

6. Our Hand, Our Band

  1. Only the Siller-Snatchers an’ Reft-Rags we bleed out can be used tae pouch our wares.
  2. We flatly refuse tae take any other firm’s fake money, photocopied rubbish, or coupon tripe.
  3. The absolute sole exception which we may accept at face value at our discretion is Canadian Tire Money. As any sensible soul knows, “Canadian Tire Money” bears the proud visage of King Sandy McTire the ultimate “thrifty Scot” who, since 1961 has represented the hard-working, thrifty Canadian! We may at our discretion accept Canadian Tire Money in exchange for wares you purchase from us in person because no matter where in Canada ye live its’ worth a damn sight more than our inflation-battered Loonie!

7. Oor “Dinna Waste Our Breath” Clause

If ye still cannae comprehend these terms and feel the urge tae ask for more help, ye can contact us. Mind you, we probably won’t answer you back, because we’ve already laid the rules out plain as day for you tae read!
